The collection consists of Harold E. O'Neill's Norwich University scrapbook or "memory book" of Norwich memorabilia. Topics of interest include O'Neill's diary of events for 1918, particularly his entries during the influenza epidemic, through which he acted as nurse. See the "Dates and Doings" section of the scrapbook for O'Neill's comments. Other topics of interest include summer school, Fort Ethan Allen, fraternities, football, engineering and photographs of cadets and faculty.

Harold O'Neill (1901-1982) of New London, CT, was a civil engineering major at Norwich University. During his time at Norwich, he played baseball and was a member of the mandolin club. He was a member of Alpha Sigma Pi fraternity. O'Neill acted as a nurse during the Spanish influenza epidemic of 1918 and briefly came down with the flu himself.
